About

Bence Mélykúti studies stochastic models describing the kinetics of (bio)chemical reaction systems. His main speciality is a stochastic differential equation model, the so-called chemical Langevin equation. His contributions are methodological and broaden our mathematical understanding of such stochastic chemical models. Such results have the potential to find numerous applications in molecular systems biology and synthetic biology.

Bence defended his doctoral thesis in January 2011 at the University of Oxford, UK. He holds an MSc degree in mathematics for completing a five-year-long programme of study at the Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE), Budapest, Hungary.
